A church website the congregation can run itself
Cornerstone Church needed a site that answers a visitor’s three questions in one glance (when, where, what to expect), streams the Sunday service, takes giving online, and can be updated by church staff without calling a developer. churchdfs.com does all four on WordPress, with sermons on YouTube, an events calendar and online giving built in.
- Client
- Cornerstone Church
- Location
- DeFuniak Springs, Florida
- Timeline
- WordPress build, maintained by the church
- Live site
- churchdfs.com

The problem
Where it was breaking.
- First-time visitors need service times, the address and what the church believes before they will walk in.
- Sermons and the Sunday live stream have to be easy to find for members who cannot attend.
- Giving needs to work from a phone, with text-to-give for the people who never open a laptop.
- Events change weekly, so the people who run the church have to be able to change the site.
The approach
What we decided before writing code.
- Built on WordPress so church staff can edit pages, events and posts themselves.
- Sermons and the live stream run through the church’s YouTube channel: no video hosting costs, no upload bottleneck.
- Online giving through a dedicated giving platform, with text giving alongside it.
- Service times, address and the phone number sit on the homepage where a visitor looks first.
What shipped
Everything the client got.
- Homepage with service times, address, live-stream link and the church’s statement of faith.
- Events section with upcoming events and fellowship activities.
- Watch page: recent messages and the Sunday live stream.
- Online giving and text-to-give.
- Ministry pages for children’s church, nursery and counseling.
- Blog, contact form, Facebook and YouTube links, and a privacy policy.
The result
What changed.
- The church updates its own events, sermons and posts.
- Visitors find service times and the address without scrolling.
- Giving works from a phone.
